Karen L. Corrigan

Senior Vice President

Karen received her B.A. in Spanish from Knox College. She has over 25 years of experience conducting social and market research.

Karen began her career managing qualitative and quantitative consumer products and services studies for a custom research agency, a position she held for five years.

During the ensuing 11 years as Senior Project Director and Director of Field Operations at the University of Illinois’ Survey Research Laboratory, Karen was responsible for the design and execution of numerous large-scale, federally funded research efforts in the areas of healthcare, and in education and economics, as well. Projects were funded by the National Institutes of Health, Immigration and Naturalization Service, and Department of Labor. Those projects involved telephone (CATI and paper), face-to-face and mail surveys.

Among other areas, in healthcare, Karen’s work covered HIV/AIDS, cancer, smoking cessation, occupational hazards and low birth weight. Special areas of expertise include questionnaire design, sampling techniques, the interviewing of elite populations and longitudinal data analyses. Karen has served as a presenter at professional meetings and as guest lecturer at various workshops and classes at UIC.

Karen joined DSHA, Inc. in 1995 and is currently Senior Vice President in charge of Client Support Services and Operations. She plays an active role in client management, study design and planning in addition to overseeing the survey center, recruitment, data collection, coding and data processing functions.
